FURTHER INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE PARTICIPANTS
The West African Insurance Institute (WAII) presents this six modules course which aims to prepare participants to overcome today’s business and environmental challenges, while anticipating the future.
- The course focuses on the workplace and its contents are based on relevant theories and effective applications.
- Participants will acquire knowledge, develop skills and build leadership capabilities in managing organisational resilience.
- Each participant should at the end of the course become a change agent influencing their organizations to become resilient.

Module 5 – Building Organizational Resilience (O. R.)

Module 6 – Project – Thesis / Term Paper
The participants will work individually or in syndicates to prepare a Thesis/Term Paper (3000 words) which will be research oriented focusing on a combination of any or all of the areas covered in the course.
Course Administration:
- This is an on-line but interactive course. Lectures will be virtual while participants will actively put skills learned to test through engaging exercises, group discussions and case studies.
- Faculty members will give advice and practical examples.
- All learning sessions (2 hours each) shall run live and virtual during weekends (Saturdays – 08:45 to 17:00 GMT and Sundays – 11:45 to 17:00 GMT).
- Faculty support shall be as required by participants (individuals or groups).
- The channels of communication shall include WAII Website, WAII App., Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp and Telephone.
- Course participants should endeavour to do 10 hours of private study for each course credit.
- Participant’s learning in each module will be assessed through case study assignments (30%) and a three (3) hour written examination (70%). The examination paper will consist of twenty (20) compulsory short answer questions and five (5) essay questions out of which participants will answer only three (3).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in any discipline or the Diploma in Insurance of WAII.
- Persons who have relevant experience and ability to successfully complete the course but don’t have the qualifications above.
